Membership FAQs

The following are the most commonly asked questions about membership in the Mambo Foundation, Inc.

Q: I am interested in helping out on the project. How can I get involved?

A: We are committed to building a vibrant Mambo community, and appreciate your assistance. We need assistance with everything from coding, documentation, translations, forum moderation, through to helping other Mambo users on the forums. Our forums are peer support forums and rely on Mambo users helping other Mambo users. The forums are also the best place to interact with the team and to let them know you are interested in helping.

Information about what you can do to help and how to get started are on our Contributing to Mambo pages on the wiki.

Q: Who can join the Mambo Foundation?

A: Membership in the Foundation is open to anyone who has demonstrated a commitment to Mambo and an interest in contributing to the work of the Mambo Foundation. Please see the Membership section of this site for information on how to apply for membership.

Q: Why should I join the Foundation?

A: To take an active part in the governance of one of the fastest growing and most exciting Open Source software projects on the Internet. Members may have voting rights to select Board members, are able to participate in the formulation of policies, and are able to share the benefits of association with the foundation.

Q: Do I have to be a member of the Foundation to contribute to the Mambo project?

A: No. The Mambo project is self-managed by the Mambo Steering Committee. There are many ways in which you can contribute and it is not a requirement for you to be a member of the non-profit organisation itself (although we hope you will join to take part in governing the project).

Q: Do I have to be a member of the Foundation to participate in the community or use Mambo?

A: No. Join our forums and discussions here: http://forum.mambo-foundation.org.
